In Search of... - Season 1 - Eps 16: Dracula
In this episode we investigate Dracula, the fictional character from Bram Stoker's novel. But was there a real Dracula? Was this character based on a real person? The life of Vlad "The Impaler", the Romanian Count who lived in the Transylvania's during the 18th century must have surely been the model for Bram Stoker's Count Dracula. The Order of Dracul, the meaning of the word Dracula is included, as well as the presence today of the ruins of Vlad's castle. Local legends and historical evidence is reviewed.

Synopsis
In Search of... is a television series that was broadcast weekly from 1977 to 1982, devoted to mysterious phenomena. It was created after the success of three one-hour TV documentaries produced by creator Alan Landsburg: In Search of Ancient Astronauts in 1973, In Search of Ancient Mysteries and The Outer Space Connection, both in 1975. All three featured narration by Rod Serling, who was the initial choice to host the spin-off show. After Serling's death, Leonard Nimoy was selected to be the host.
